We are on the move.
Many many peeps have been through our gates and have been kind enough to leave us some wonderful messages, feedback and exceptional photographs, Thank you so much.
We have had to make the decision to Sell Monkton Barton Farm to which The Otter Vale Wild Camping is based, reasons for this is purely a dairy based one, we don't have the acreage to produce enough food for our cows.
DON'T PANIC !!!
SO we are moving to a bigger farm, this is in North Devon a little village called Rose Ash in between South Molton and Tiverton a few minutes off the North Devon link road. We are setting up another wild camp site called The Little Silver Stream at our new abode 'East Catkill Farm'. It will be on exactly the same basis as The Otter Vale wild camping in either woodland or meadows with the freedom to camp where you wish and to have campfires, there will be facilities also.
So as from 1st November 2018 we will be at Little Silver Stream Wild Camping near South Molton, Devon. Please visit: www.thelittlesilverstreamwildcamping-devon.com
We will still be on the same phone number 07880714767 or contactable through email or Face Book messages.
We are a family run dairy farm overlooking the Otter Valley, on the outskirts of a small village called Monkton, just outside the market town of Honiton in Devon. As well as our dairy cows we have a variety of animals - pigs, horses, Goats, chickens and ducks, dogs and cats.
Otter Vale Wild Camping is based in 8 acres of mixed broadleaf woodland and 11 acres of meadow, which is predominantly untouched. The idea of wild camping is to be able to see, hear and be at one with mother nature at her best.
The wood is a bluebell wood with many different residents - Badgers, Foxes, Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, many different Birds and Bugs, all make this beautiful part of Devon their home.
We pride ourselves in offering a traditional relaxed campsite, you choose where to pitch up, tucked away into the wood or out in the meadow.
We don't do times either for arrival or departure, we feel it keeps it chilled and relaxed.
We have some stunning views and boast some of the most spectacular sunsets to sit back and enjoy.
Nestled in the Otter Valley which is part of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are within easy distance of the historic Jurassic coastline, Dartmoor and the beautiful city of Exeter.
Honiton is a historic town well known for its Lace making, an abundance of antique shops and an wonderful selection of quaint tea rooms.
There is space and freedom for children to explore and enjoy the environment around them. Within walking distance local villages have play areas.
We have some wonderful local public houses, which offer a variety of locally sourced food and beverages.
Each season brings its own delights, the spectacular show of bluebells in spring, to warm summer evenings watching the sun set over Dumpdon Hill. Black Berry picking from our hedge rows heading towards autumn, to which brings the most amazing array of wonderful colours throughout the valley.
